In the devastating earthquake that struck Nepal on 12th Baisakh 2072 B.S. (April 25, 2015 A.D.), inspired by the spirit of humanitarian service, Shri Ramnarayan Chandak, Vice President of Manav Seva Ashram in Surat, Gujarat (India), took the responsibility of rebuilding 200 earthquake-affected homes through Shri Jai Kishan Sarda, the then outgoing President of Maheshwari Samaj Kathmandu.
During the reconstruction visits to various villages in Sindhupalchok, he was deeply disturbed to witness different organizations distributing relief while simultaneously promoting Western religious conversion. This awakened within him a profound realization of the urgent need to protect, promote, and preserve Nepal’s indigenous Vedic Sanatan Dharma. With this inspiration, he resolved to establish "Gitapress Nepal" as the international branch of Gitapress Gorakhpur in Nepal.
In line with this objective, the first office was set up near Bhuvaneshwari Temple within the Pashupatinath premises, and the sale and distribution of spiritual literature commenced in 2015 A.D. In 2016 A.D., it was officially registered under the name "Gitapress Book Sales Centre Nepal."
The primary aim of this institution is to disseminate sacred literature such as the Gita, Ramayana, Puranas, etc., across the remote regions of Nepal, thereby cultivating a Vedic values-based cultured society, instilling moral consciousness among the youth, and spreading the true essence of Sanatan Dharma.
Gitapress Nepal is not a commercial organization but a dedicated institution driven by selfless service, righteousness, cultural values, and spiritual awareness.
